Sculptra is an FDA-approved injectable treatment designed to restore the skin’s underlying structure by stimulating the body’s natural collagen production. PRE-CARE
Preparing Your Results
- Avoid blood-thinning medications and supplements
For 3–7 days before treatment, avoid aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, vitamin E, and other blood-thinning agents (unless prescribed), to help reduce the risk of bruising and swelling. - Limit alcohol consumption
Refrain from alcohol for at least 24–48 hours prior to your appointment, as it can increase sensitivity and bruising at the injection sites. - Stay well-hydrated and maintain good nutrition
Proper hydration and a balanced diet can help support skin health and improve overall treatment response. - Inform your provider of medical history
Let your provider know about any allergies, autoimmune conditions, recent procedures, or medications to ensure Sculptra is safe and appropriate for you.
POST-CARE
Protecting Your Results
- Massage the treated area (“Rule of 5s”)
Gently massage the treated areas for 5 minutes, 5 times a day, for 5 days (unless otherwise instructed). This helps distribute the product evenly and supports optimal collagen stimulation. - Avoid strenuous activity and heat exposure
For 24–48 hours after treatment, avoid heavy exercise, saunas, steam rooms, and excessive heat to minimize swelling and irritation. - Monitor for mild swelling or bruising
Some swelling, redness, or bruising is normal and temporary. These effects typically resolve within a few days. - Be patient with results
