A chemical peel is a skin-resurfacing treatment designed to improve tone, texture, and clarity by reducing dullness, fine lines, acne, and uneven pigmentation. It works by applying a carefully selected solution to gently exfoliate the outer layers of damaged skin, encouraging new, healthier skin to emerge.
Unlike surface cleansers or exfoliants used at home, chemical peels penetrate more deeply to target specific skin concerns at their source. The solution is applied in a controlled way and then neutralized or allowed to self-exfoliate, depending on the type of peel used. The procedure is typically quick and may involve mild tingling, with downtime varying based on the strength of the peel.
In the days following treatment, the skin gradually sheds and renews itself, revealing a smoother, brighter, and more even complexion that continues to improve as healing progresses.
